[attr="class","paracontentfull"]Shoulder length blonde hair is the first thing that most notice when they see Michael. Often pulled back into a ponytail and revealing both the unusually pointed tips of his pierced ears, his hair sets him apart from most men. Underneath that well-groomed mane is a face that brims with confident determination. His icy blue eyes seem to pierce straight through any doubts you might have about him. They say you can tell a lot about a man from how he holds himself, about Michael probably doesn't even know how to slouch. His posture is always perfect, but lacks the rigidity of someone who has to think about it. The first impression of this man is surely that whoever he is, he knows he is better than you.
As far as his actual build is considered, Michael falls into the category of waste not, want not. He is neither tall nor bulky. Lean would be decently accurate at first glance, but any who catch Michael without a shirt on may realize he has more muscle on him than they first thought. "Cut" would be a better choice of words. Heavens help the fair maidens that see him in that state.
One of the biggest things with Michael is that his entire appearance can seem to change quite a bit depending on his outfit and disposition. In his usual "around town" outfit that usually consists of a pair of black slacks, polo, and a sword he simply seems to be firm, but not quite "intense." In the rare moments that he allows himself to relax in something comfy, perhaps a sweater and khakis, he can actually seem warm and inviting. Catch him as he is preparing for a serious mission in a tunic and hooded cloak or a bodysuit and mask, and you will likely fear for your life immediately.

[attr="class","paracontentfull"] If you had to pick a single word to describe Michael Covington it should probably be fanatic. This a man who is so extreme and unshakable in his faith that he borders on delusional. All things are the work of his deity, even his failures. Such an intense level of belief is very seldom able to be brought into question. Above all else that could possibly define Michael is that one trait.
Outside of that though, who is Michael Covington? He is driven. The youngest Bishop in the history of The Holy Church, Michael has blazed a way to the top through ruthlessness, cunning, and boundless motivation. He does not know the meaning of rest, and often times it seems he doesn't even have emotions at all. Of course they are there beneath the surface, but his single minded pursuit of his goals leads him to ignore near everything else. Even if he is in pain and suffering he will push that aside in the face of his chance to achieve his goals.
You may think there is a soft side to him hidden under all that, but you would be horribly mistaken. There is no nice, soft, fluffy core hidden away as he rests between assignments. That is not the kind of attitude that gets one through the ranks as rapidly as Michael has risen. If you see him ever act aloof or lazy then you can rest assured that is merely some sort of ploy to achieve his goals. Demons should run when this man goes to war, but all should run when Michael Covington says they are an enemy of The Church.
[attr="class","subheaderbghalf"] [attr="class","subheader"]//Likes | [attr="class","subheaderbghalf"] [attr="class","subheader"]//Dislikes | [attr="class","paracontenthalfnoborder"] 1) Law and Order - The world is best off when everything is predictable and orderly. Those who disturb order should burn. 2) The Pope - His Holiness is the word of God. None can defy his will. 3) Power - Unlike some, this does not mean combat prowess. No, Michael is addicted to political power more than anything else. 4) Chaldea - Even though Chaldea has declared all who use Servants as the enemy, Michael sees them as an ally. He is no Servant, so he is no enemy of theirs, and his Servant is a minion, not a threat. They are on the same side as far as he is concerned. 5) Casters - Unlike the brutes that rely on raw strength, casters are capable of wide-ranging feats of Magecraft. This is one of the only types of Servant that Michael would consider seeing tutelage from. 6) Command Spells - The God-Given right to rule over Servants. This is the power of a master. This is his power over Mivare. He cherishes this power. 7) Chastity - Michael does not believe in worldly desires. Yes, he owns things, but he ignores the advances that others make towards him. He sees them as nothing more than a distraction from his mission. 8) Libraries - Between the smell of old books, the tranquility of their halls, and the boundless depths of information they hold, libraries are second only to churches in Michael's eyes. 9) Churches - Michael is many things, but devout is the foremost thing one can ever call him. If he is not in the field or doing research, then you will probably find him locked in prayer in a pew. 10) Magecraft - Michael does not draw a line between Magecraft and Magic like normal Magi do. Instead he considers his uses of Magecraft to be Miracles granted to him by God.
| [attr="class","paracontenthalfnoborder"] 1) Demons - The scum of the Earth and mortal enemy of The Church. The only thing that ranks below Servants in his book. Even Dead Apostles are easier to deal with. 2) Servants - These unholy abominations have plunged the world into Chaos. While yes, they have their uses, Michael sees them as tools at best and damnation at worst. 3) Heretics and Heathens - Those who do not follow His Holiness condemn themselves to eternity in Hellfire. Poor souls. 4) Mage's Association - The damnable fools thought they could control the power of Holy Relics and look where it got them. The blood of innocents is on their hands. 5) Berserkers - Of all the Servants out there, Berserkers are the worst. They can barely be controlled by their masters and that makes them a whole different category of threat to public safety. 6) Leviathan - Levi Shaw, he calls himself. Bah! Michael knows him for what he really is. The Dragon is the form of Satan. It is Michael's destiny to defeat Leviathan. 7) The History Channel - Aliens? Really? This network used to be a wonderful and unbiased source of information, but now they spew out propaganda and conspiracy. 8) Technology - You cannot match the richness of the old ways with the blue glow of a screen. Facetime cannot carry a true conversation. Sure, it may be convenient, but the destruction of face to face communication is seen as the work of the Devil by Michael. 9) Snakes - Another of the devil's many forms. While Michael does not fear snakes, he also does not hesitate to drive a blade through one the second he sees one. 10) Details - Michael is very much a big picture guy. He does not concern himself with the intricate nature of things like planning or bureaucracy. All he is focused on is the results and what he can accomplish. |
[attr="class","subheaderbghalf"] [attr="class","subheader"]//Habits | [attr="class","subheaderbghalf"] [attr="class","subheader"]//Flaws | [attr="class","paracontenthalfnoborder"] 1) Quoting scripture - Any time that Michael can pull a Biblical quote out, he certainly will. It can get old fast. 2) "The will of our Lord" - That phrase is what defines Michael. His actions are the will of the Lord. His failures are a lesson from on high. His success is a blessing from above. Everything, and I mean everything, is part of the Divine Plan. 3) Sign of the cross - The gesture of tracing the shape of the cross across his body is a common religious ritual. He often uses this ritual when seeking either strength of forgiveness.
| [attr="class","paracontenthalfnoborder"] 1) Believes his word is the word of God - Though he merely a Bishop, and not Pope, Michael believes that his word is just as infallible as that of His Holiness. Getting him to admit he was wrong is nigh on impossible. 2) Doesn't play nice with others - Not a member of The Church? Good luck getting Michael to cooperate with you. Even if his life is on the line he would sooner die than cooperate with a nonbeliever. 3) Ends justify the means - Michael does not care how a result is achieved. He cares about the result. If a few must die for the greater good then it matters not. If they are believers then they are simply sent on to paradise in Heaven anyway. |
[attr="class","subheaderbghalf"] [attr="class","subheader"]//Goals | [attr="class","subheaderbghalf"] [attr="class","subheader"]//Fears | [attr="class","paracontenthalfnoborder"] 1) Lead The Holy Church to dominion over mankind - His Holiness is the savior of mankind in these end times. As the armies of Hell knock on the doors of man, The Holy Church must do all it can to ensure the survival of mankind. This, of course, could be best accomplished if all swore fealty to His Holiness.
| [attr="class","paracontenthalfnoborder"] 1) Mivare's collar failing - While Michael is confident in his combat abilities, he isn't confident that he could hold his own against a Servant all by himself. He might be able to best Mivare, especially while she is still weak, but he would rather not find out. 2) Satan - While Michael can maintain his composure against lesser demons and the likes of servants, the Lord of Hell is an entirely different beast. A mere mortal like him could not hope to best such a powerful foe, no matter how he might struggle. That is a fight best left to a higher power. |

[attr="class","paracontentfull"] At that time Michael, the great prince who protects your people, will arise. There will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people—everyone whose name is found written in the book—will be delivered.
The Book of Daniel 12:1 This verse sums up Michael Covington in his eyes. He was born in the Vatican City in 1997 and lived the kind of life that one might expect of the bastard of a Cardinal. He never knew his father, even by the time of his old man’s death a decade later. What he did know was that greatness was in his blood. Though he understood little of it growing up, his mother never wanted for money enough to survive even though she never worked. Vows of poverty aside, his old man had at least made sure the family had enough to live on. His youth was shaped by both his blood and his home. As one of only a few children known to be in the Vatican he did not have a normal schoolhouse education, but was rather raised by The Church. He was instructed in the normal things of course, but his education also included plenty of indoctrination. It wasn’t malicious or anything, but The Church thought it was important to teach the young boy the Word of God. As such, Michael was devout nearly from the day he was born. As time progressed, Michael’s talents began to appear. He was athletic, witty, and wise beyond his years. Perhaps it was from the lack of other children around. Most of his company was from bishops decades older than him, even as a toddler. Michael was a refreshing treat for clergy with the purity of his youth and the depth of his devotion to The Church. However, Michael’s upbringing gave him plenty of time to get into things he may have been better off avoiding. He made frequent trips to the archives and read far too many things he shouldn’t have. Of the highest import was that he began reading references to magecraft at only six years old. He didn’t understand it back then of course, but it only took him a few years to be casting basic spells. Much to his fortune, Michael had a knack for magecraft thanks to his high quality and quantity of magic circuits. By the time he approached puberty he was already a force to be reckoned with. Eager to prove himself, Michael went on his first mission in 2010 at only 13 years old. He was still a young boy in the eyes of The Church, but Michael knew what he was capable of. News had reached his ears about the Baghdad church massacre and he wasn’t the type that could read that and fail to act. Within hours he was on a plane to Baghdad. A bit of bribery and lying about being an official envoy from The Vatican later, the local forces had accepted his aid. Within weeks they had located the mastermind of the attack and his hideout. Michael went in alone. Some might say that a modern machine gun is a good match for a magus, but that opinion relies on one key thing: most magi care about keeping their secret. Michael did not care about being seen, because he didn’t plan on leaving witnesses. While nowhere near his prime, his skill at that point was still enough to cast Purgatory. That was all that was needed. A blinding white flash of light enveloped his enemies and within moments all of their hearts had stopped beating. The papers all credited the local police. Several similar feats followed after that one. In the wake of violence against members of his faith, Michael appeared. Days later, the perpetrators were found dead, most often from cardiac arrest. This continued for many years, and Michael’s reputation grew within The Church. His activities had not gone unnoticed. In fact there was much debate about whether he was an asset or a liability. In the end it was decided that his strength was too useful to ignore. Instead they chose to guide him. Michael was ordained as a priest at 18, and become the youngest Bishop on record at only 22. He was a bishop mostly in name, but his political power in The Church had more to do with his accomplishments than his day to day political actions. In truth, his title that matters most was earned far before either of those. His priesthood and title of Bishop were mere rewards for his outspoken faith. The title that holds most true is one most do not associate with The Church: Executor. That title is one he has held since his teens. As a member of the Assembly of the Eighth Sacrament, and given the death of Kirei, Michael was dispatched to oversee the Sixth Holy Grail War. Of the executors at their disposal, Michael had some of the highest combat prowess. More than that though, he was one of the only ones willing to take the role. Everyone knew what had happened to Kirei in the fifth war. Michael’s outlook was simply that Kirei was weak. Aaaaaand then Michael fucked up bad. The Holy Grail was destroyed, which he didn’t really care about, but Fuyuki City being mostly reduced to ash again, and the start of the Infinite Grail War, well that had all happened on his watch. It was safe to say that he had a bone to pick with the Mage’s Association, but as one door closed another door opened. With the dawn of the Infinite Grail War the prophecy of his name had finally come true.

[attr="class","paracontentfull"]Michael's method of fighting comes closest to resembling that of a Saber class Servant. His physical abilities have long since left the realm of human comparison, and he doesn't fight like the Magi that rely on magecraft. He is a holy warrior, a paladin, an executor. He is ready and willing to fight on the front lines of a fight without a single moment of hesitation. As it stands, his level of power has surpassed even that of weaker servants in his base form alone.
Because Michael is so self assured, he will rush into combat without a proper plan and rely on his quick-witted nature to throw together a plan on the fly. There are few even among the Servants that can overwhelm him so quickly that he cannot find the time to figure out a weakness to exploit. That said, Michael lacks experience against those stronger than him. His combat career has mostly been against humans, and he could defeat those through spells like Purgatory and Angelic Form without even batting an eye. Against a Servant though? His reliance on brute force can easily turn out to be a foolish endeavor.
The specifics of his style pretty much all rely on the Magic Crest of The Holy Church. Michael has talent for Magecraft, but has never studied much of anything outside the teachings of The Church. Because of this his arsenal is relatively limited. He mixes the buffing and debuffing spells of The Holy Church with his talent for swordplay. Though he has not reached the pinnacle of swordsmanship, he is capable enough with a blade that he can hold his own against all but the most powerful of Servants in base. With the aid of his magecraft even the mightiest of Servants can find themselves at a disadvantage.

[attr="class","paracontentfull"]By reflecting sunlight off of a bladed weapon at just the right angle, you can always get a real annoying gleam that will blind the opponent for a brief moment. This technique can be defeated by sunglasses, closing your eyes, or simply not looking at the opponent when this technique is used. Requires sunny weather. | [attr="class","spell"] [attr="class","container4"] [attr="class","sectionheaderbg"] [attr="class","sectionheader"]//Perfect Cut [attr="class","avatarimage"] [attr="class","propertybox"] [attr="class","property"]Rank: C | [attr="class","property"]Cooldown: Two Posts |

[attr="class","paracontentfull"]This technique allows the user to cut so precisely that they cut between the atoms of a target. Though the target is separated, no actual damage is done. Unless the target is physically forced apart, it can literally pull itself back together after the blade passes through without any lasting proof that the Perfect Cut happened. Someone or something does actually have to act upon the cut object for it to go back together. This can be stickiness, gravity, or outside force, but it won't always happen. |

[attr="class","paracontentfull"]Through training one's body, the user of this technique can enter a state of focus and let the world guide them. They will then know what direction they should go. It may not always be the direction they want to go, but it will be the "right" direction. Takes a moment of focus, with the eyes closed, making it hard to use in combat. [attr="class","paracontentfull"]This is the melee cousin of Arrow Grab. By virtue of pure agility advantage this allows the user to clap their hands together and catch an incoming melee weapon between their hands. As this technique is a basic use of pure agility, it will not work if there is a significant (at least two full ranks) strength or agility disadvantage. |
